Every wedding is unique in its own way. There are plenty of things that a couple can do to make their wedding unique to them; even if it is something as simple as taking a classic concept and tweaking it. On July 2nd, 2016 Ann and Anil did just that. Their wedding was an Indian American crossover wedding and an Indian wedding.

The ceremony was held at the Corpus Christi in Celebration, while the reception was held at the Hilton Orlando. While the couple did bring in their own Bishop to perform the Syrian Orthodox ceremony, the bride wore a traditional American  full length white dress.

It was at the reception that the couple’s personality shown through. As is traditional in Indian weddings, the reception hall was bathed in bright colors. The couple arranged to have several of the tables positioned to form a large Clover. Even the floor showed the couple’s attention to detail, proudly displaying the wedding monograph. Ann and Anil also put a little spin on the guest book. During the Cocktail Hour, guests were greeted by a picture of a tree with no leaves. An inkpad sat in front of the picture and guests were asked to place their fingerprints on the tree to act as leaves.

For the reception, Ann changed into a traditional Saree. The bridal party’s introduction at the reception was one that the guests will not soon forget. To everyone’s delight, the bridal party had prepared a skit to introduce themselves. The bridal party members were not the only ones to perform, though. The groom’s family had their own performance planned. It meant a lot to Ann and Anil that his parents joined in the fun with their own performance, after all, weddings are not just the joining of two people, but the joining of two families. The evening was just perfect for Ann and Anil, or should I say, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob.
