Not all couples have a cute story about how they met and lived happily ever after. Meg and Bertrand, however, do. Meg and her sister decided that they wanted to go on a sailing trip around the south of France. The ship’s dashing captain was Bertrand! They started dating shortly after the end of the trip.
This lovely couple were married at the beautiful Cypress Grove Estate, under the lakefront pavilion. As the sun set and lit the sky in hues of pink, Meg and Bertrand could not have asked for a more perfect evening. As sweet as the ceremony was, nothing could top the emotion during the couple’s first look. Meg and Bertrand had no reservations about seeing each other before the wedding. In fact, they worked together setting up the table center pieces before the ceremony. The fact that the first look was not the first time they had seen each other that day made the moment even more special. Bertrand had seen Meg many times that morning, but when he saw her in her gown for the first time, the tears came just the same as if he had not seen her all day. The love these two shared in that moment was clear as day. As soon as the first look was finished, it was off to the ceremony.
The reception theme was fitting for the couple, an ocean theme. Bertrand was instrumental in creating and setting the table center pieces. Each table had several vases with sand and shells inside, the vases ranged in sizes. There was rope netting under the vases. Surrounding the vases were shells, starfish, and candles. To say the least, the tables were stunning. There was no sweetheart table at this wedding. Meg and Bertrand wanted to be seated with their family, and so they were. Seating was open, guests were encouraged to sit wherever and with whomever they wished. There was no cake! The couple decided to have a dessert buffet in lieu of having a cake. The newlywed had specially designed bride and groom chocolate covered strawberries that they fed each other. At the end of the evening each guest was given their own goodie bag to take home with them. The bags were personalized with each guest’s name, a nice touch that is possible with a small wedding,
It was truly a wonderful evening for this amazing couple. We wish you a long and happy marriage. Bon Voyage and Happy Sailing!!
