Time was on Maria and Carlos’s side when by pure happenstance they swiped right on each other. Since that chance encounter, they’ve been inseparable. It must have been kismet for these two to meet. Their love is magical, and so it was no surprise that they would someday wed. That day came in December of 2018.
The Four V’s: Vision, Vintage, Veil, Vinci
The Luxmore Grande Estate was dressed in shades of burgundy, ivory, pink, champagne, and navy blue. Carlos and Maria’s wedding was equal parts romantic and gorgeous!
Maria was a vision in her Narin Moda wedding gown with champagne-colored illusion lace. Maria’s bridal glamor was complemented by her gown’s semi-sheer bodice and lace skirt- which had details of lace and tulle. Her hair and makeup was polished and exuded vintage grace. We all know the old saying, “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…” Well, Maria’s ‘something borrowed’ was provided by one of our very own! Zoe lent Maria her wedding veil!
To complete her look, Maria carried a bouquet of Pink Mink Protea, Burgundy Ginger, Blush Dahlias, Red Amaranthus, Italian Ruscus, and Eucalyptus arranged in a hand-tied style. The entire collection of bouquets and boutonnieres was exquisite!
Maria’s beau, Carlos, rocked a burgundy suit by Vinci. Carlos paired his stylish suit with a personalized, blush button-up shirt that sported his initials on the cuffs. Completing the look, was a blush tie and a pair of sleek, walnut-colored shoes. If anyone could’ve pulled off this fashionable ensemble, it was Carlos!
This lovely couple’s wedding party came to Slay! Maria’s bridesmaids wore a myriad of sequin cocktail dresses in hues of burgundy, champagne, and navy. Their hairstyles were perfectly quaffed vintage up-dos. Carlos’s groomsmen looked dashing in navy blue suits from Jos A Bank.
Meet me at the Fountain
With everyone in their finery, the ceremony was underway. The ceremony was held on the Luxmore’s back patio to the gentle sound of a flowing fountain. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, Maria and Carlos said their vows without hesitation and full of enduring love for one another.
Prior to the I-dos, Maria and Carlos held a “first touch,” saving the epic moment of seeing each other for the first time, for the aisle. Carlos was blindfolded with an elegant pashmina that belongs to Maria’s grandmother. These two were so giddy, they could hardly contain their excitement!
After their “first touch,” Maria and Carlos briefly parted ways- soon to reunite at the altar. As Maria made her entrance, there was not a dry eye in sight, especially from her soon-to-be-hubby. Carlos’s teary expression melted our hearts! When Maria reached Carlos’s side, the ceremony began and they read their vows to each other. It was an incredibly pure and vulnerable moment for this couple. They poured their hearts into their vows and made their love known. We’re so honored to have witnessed such a heartfelt moment. Sealed with a kiss, Maria and Carlos were pronounced husband and wife and strolled away under a shower of bubbles.
The cocktail hour was abuzz with chatter, good food, and even better drinks. Maria and Carlos took advantage of the time and set off around the property to snap photos and celebrate their new status as husband and wife. Guests were encouraged to also strike a pose, and leave them in a scrapbook for the couple. The scrapbook also doubled as their guestbook.
It’s getting hot in here!
Moving on from the cocktail hour, guests were incited to take their seats in the Grand Ballroom for the reception. Hues of ivory, blush, burgundy enriched the room with elegant vibes and a romantic ambiance. Each table was dressed in Ivory Shantung linen, beautifully tall floral centerpieces, and mahogany Chiavari chairs. Uplights encircled the room in an amber glow that was perfect for a warm dining atmosphere.
All eyes were on Maria and Carlos as they proceeded through their first dance, toasts and cake cutting. The parent dances were something special: Maria danced with her mother to a Romanian mother/daughter song, and Carlos danced with his mother to a sweet, maternal Spanish tune. Both dances were incredibly sweet and emotional!
What you might not know about Maria, is that she’s a Fireman! And some of the guests in attendance were from the fire station. It was amazing to see them carry on the tradition of bringing their helmets in tribute to their comrade, the bride. Maria and her fellow firefighters took a few group photos in their helmets. Come to think of it- it was probably a good thing they brought the helmets because it was getting hot in that ballroom. Due to all the fire dance moves! The rest of the evening was filled with dancing and laughter in celebration of the newlyweds. The dance floor was overflowing all night long, up until the sparkler exit. Another good reason to have the fire helmets.
Guests lined up with sparklers and sent the newlyweds into the night with wedded bliss. They rolled away from the party in a 1957 Rolls Royce Sedan. No big deal.
